Disagree Curiously™
The Problem
For young people today, engaging curiously with disagreement is often undervalued, overwhelming, and risky.
On college campuses, sustainably reaching students who don’t opt into dialogue programming proves an additional challenge.
In secondary schools, constraints on capacity and expertise leave teachers and students unprepared to facilitate and participate in difficult conversations.
These compounding factors contribute to a society in which conflict is avoided, relationships break down, academic outcomes worsen, and communities fracture.
Our Vision
A society in which understanding across different viewpoints leads to authentic expression, enduring relationships, and thriving communities.
Our Mission
The Viewpoints Project empowers young people to create and sustain a culture where curious disagreement is valued, practiced, and normalized.
The Viewpoints Project is a youth-centered nonprofit focused on fostering culture shifts toward curious disagreement. We specialize in reaching those who might not proactively seek this training, broadening who engages with curious disagreement and how. Through our college Viewpoints Fellowship, secondary school training and consulting, and custom projects, we help students, educators, and community members build the skills and dispositions needed to navigate disagreement with curiosity.
